( I understand the demo project was created specifically for C12, so this is not a completely fair comparison as several plugins are not available in C11). To test further, I then ran the same demo session in C11 and noticed I did not have the same issue with the ASIO-Guard settings and could run the project with AG set to Low with no dropout/clicks. For me with my setup, this is a new issue I did not experience in C11. I discovered this by browsing through the demo project selecting different tracks (audio tracks, instruments tracks, folders). At this this point I was not even looking at the performance meters, just listening to the track. For me, increasing AG to High improved the performance and I could no longer hear the dropout clicks. Simply arming, then unarming the record button of an instrument track resulted in an audible dropout/click when the ASIO-Guard is set to Low or Normal. It seems to be related to plug-ins that have their own multi-processing management. I guess at some point many of us do develop a 'sound.We are looking into the issue and are working on fix. I guess tight drums are another thing altogether, something I haven't spent much time pursuing. You don't really hear it as 'reverb' so much, just size. Snare drum will often get a bit of PSP 2445 plate, tip from jcoutu1, to make it sound larger. Lexicon on drums, to give some example, sounds kind of fake and of a period to me, not my personal goal with drums. These sort of 'studio' plugins like Ocean Way, Sunset Sound, Altiverb, Waves IR-1, have been my first reach for this, but the occasional Phoenix Verb or Nimbus has worked sometimes too. I do think the stereo image of the drum set requires special care, but blending in some ambience is probably not going to ruin that, just add some depth. Maybe that's just my aesthetic, but it's not uncommon. Many times after a drum part is settled, it needs 'even more room' in the mix. I'll go back to ragan's first post here, I've never had any issue either with mixing rooms, spaces, ambiences.
